Update No.2 - RRP cloth diapers DIY

Hello all, this is part two of my updates regarding the DIY cloth diaper i have made. Using RRP pattern is not that hard. The product is trim (not bulky), simple, and cute. Thanks Rita! The pictures i have posted here are the type of CD that i used a lot nowadays. Comparing to original pattern, i always find it a bit challenging to pin the CDs on my babies. They really like to touch the pin when i wanted to put them on. So, i used the diaper cover pattern (still from RRP pattern), added on hoop-loop (velcro) for an easier attachment.

Cloth diaper AND the insert. The CD is made of one layer printed blue cotton flannel for the outside layer and stripey heavy fleece for the inner layer. While the insert is made from two layers of microfiber towel. Since there no waterproof layer inside, i still use the diaper cover to protect the pants from dampness.

Here it shows the pocket opening. Since the inner layer is made of fleece, so it won't fray. I just took my scissors, and cut a straight line (1.5-2 inches from the back elastic). Make sure your hand and the insert can fit in the opening. This CD here is already gone through more than 20 times of washing cycles. Still the pocket didn't fray (^o^)//

Instead of pins, i have decided to use hoop-loop closure. Much easier. This would add up the cost a little bit, and an extra sewing to do. But it sure worth my money and time. I trimmed the sharp-square-edges of the hoop-loop and made it rounder to prevent it from scratching my babies's skin.

The pics above showed the loop strand was sewn through all the layers to provide extra strength. From my previous observations (chewah!), the cotton flannel itself isn't that strong to hold the pressure from repetitive hoop-loop attachment and detachment (see..my use of words in English is limited).

Elastics were sewn at three places (both legs and back).

The insert is on its way into the pocket.

In the pocket.

The opening will automatically closed up after insertion. This really sounded like a doctor's operation, right? Hehehe!

Fitted with pocket diaper, finished stuffed in.

p/s: Dear Nuzula, is there any other question? I would really more than glad to help (^o^) ~ ~
